Bird Sanctuary Protection

Throughout the world, there are many bird sanctuaries that protect birds from harmful elements. For example, in Canada, there is a well-known sanctuary called the Indian Had Migratory Bird Sanctuary. It is located in Saskatchewan just east of Regina. One of the more popular birds that visit this sanctuary is Canadian Geese.

The sanctuary was started in 1924 with the intention of eliminating indiscriminate shooting of birds that migrated through the area. There are reservoir wetlands throughout the sanctuary that provide emergent plant life and aquatic vegetation. One of the reservoirs even has a small man-made island. The sanctuary is an area for resting, feeding, or nesting.
